Update Notes: Added more artwork to the Favorites gallery, will add more as I go along. Found several new anti-PETA stamps that would surely look lovely on your journal. Also added in seven new links in the section at the bottom for alternative organizations to check out, including animal adoption programs and no-kill shelters.
I felt I needed a journal on this page. My main account has a couple hundred of them listed, and I thought this one looked awfully naked without one

I doubt I'll ever have to make a new journal, I'll likely just keep updating this one with links as it's primarily a point from which I intend to amuse and inform in (possibly) equal amounts.
Of course, we like to play fair around here, don't we? PETA actually has an official presence right here on dA (for reasons which still escape me) in the form of

. Note that it's peta2, as "peta" was already taken by someone with the misfortune of being given that birthname (Miss Peta, this account is NOT directed at you, I promise). If you'd like to contact PETA for any reason, you are welcome to do so from
this page.
Also, I didn't think I'd have to stoop to posting something like this when I first made this journal, but apparently I was mistaken. If you leave a comment on my page for no better reason than to insult me for the audacious crime of being an opinionated, thinking human being, please note that while there's a small chance I'll reply in kind out of amusement and to embarrass you in a public medium by shooting your attempts at argument into the ditch, there's a much greater chance I'll just report you for harassment and laugh while submitting a screenshot of your suspended user page to my gallery. Thank you, and please enjoy the rest of your stay on my page.
Firstly,
a journal left on my page by the author. I believe this one warrants a spot since it looks neater and more professional than most anti-PETA websites I've seen.
Next, we have good old
PetaKillsAnimals.com. You can probably figure that one out pretty easily.
We've got a lovely set of twins after that,
anti-peta.com and
anti-peta.org.My personal favorite,
FuckPeta.net
Here we have a
Yahoo group on the same subject.
This one had somehow escaped my notice until it was left as a suggested add-on on my page.
A bit more on the amusing side, here's the website for
People Eating Tasty Animals.Of course, while I happily rail against PETA and their lying, misinforming methods, I most certainly do NOT advocate actual cruelty to animals, nor do I wish to convey that image. I've also included in the following a number of websites devoted to awareness and prevention of animal abuse.
SPANA - The Society for the Protection of ANimals AbroadOf course, the ASPCA - The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the one with which I'm most familiar. This link is a Petfinder.com-based list of animal shelters throughout the US and Mexico, sorted by state.
Animal Aid, a Britain-based abuse prevention organization.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA),
Australian and
UK versions, plus the
Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (not to be confused with the
Sacramento SPCA).
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in southern Utah, which I've visited myself.
Here we have
CAPS - the Companion Animal Protection Society
The
US Humane SocietyHere we have
The Animal Rescue Site where you can donate money that goes to the care of animals in shelters.
The
International Fund for Animal WelfareLucky Cat Rescue Inc. is exactly what it sounds like, based out of Maryland.
This is
Petfinder.com, a site dedicated to helping out new pet owners and also finding animals up for adoption. You can also post classified ads for your own animals you wish to find a new home for.
The
Animal Abuse Prevention Association.
This is
Animal Rescue Inc., a place to adopt rescued strays in Maryland or Pennsylvania. They do not take unwanted, owned animals from their current guardians.
Here is
a list of adoption agencies for cats and dogs; several of the links are out of date but many still work.
Here we have
SAFE, a no-kill animal rescue program based out of Tuscon, AZ.
Aimed more at domestic pets than wild animals, there's also
Pet-Abuse.comAnd, since they seem to be making one for every country or region, it follows that there's a
World Society for the Protection of Animals.
Before you rant at me, also please note that I'm not anti-vegetarian. However, I'm happily omnivorous and detest salad, so I'm not going to bother posting links for all you people

Last but not least, a smattering of art made by your fellow Deviants. Don't forget to read the author's comments, as well.

This world doesn't fight you, you fight yourself.
Thinking we fail you, you fail yourself.
The brother of the victim in this tragedy goes to my school (though I don't really know him), so it seems a lot more "real" to me than most other murders you hear about. So READING ABOUT THIS FILLED ME WITH SO MUCH RAGE.
I hate PETA so much.
